Dancing for Fukushima with Primo Cubano March 23rd

Primo Cubano will be returning to Billy’s Tavern in Thomaston, ME this weekend, Saturday, March 23rd, to help raise money to benefit Sado Island Respite Camp in Fukushima, Japan and we couldn’t be happier than to be involved with such a great project and cause.
After the tsunami and earthquake disaster at the Daiichi nuclear facility in 2011, the Sado Island Respite Camp has been providing the children of Fukushima a fukushimakids 300x277 Dancing for Fukushima with Primo Cubano March 23rd

reprieve from radiation exposure.  The Sado Island Respite Camp is an ongoing project of educator Hsiao Seki.  You can learn more about the situation and efforts in Fukushima by attending the showing of the film “Fukushima, Never Again” on Thursday, March 21st at the Rockland Public Library.  There will also be information available at the dance benefit here at Billy’s on Saturday, March 23rd with Primo Cubano.
Primo Cubano cranks out the best traditional and contemporary Cuban music in all of coastal Maine.  They are one of our favorite bands to have play at the tavern and they get the whole place moving and grooving to their authentic Maine-made Cuban rhythms.
Suggested donation for this event is $10 at the door.  The kitchen will be closing early (like 6pm) so we can clear all the tables this time and make way for the dancing.  And dancing for a great cause at that!
We’d like to thank Midcoast Dancing4Fun for allowing us to be part of this project and to our co-sponsors, Midcoast Peace & Justice League, wcePublishing, and of course, Primo Cubano for providing another exciting evening of dancing to exhaustion for such a great cause.
Let us know you’re coming! RSVP
